I know how to get these Theatre ๐ญ cups for FREE!!! Don’t pay $30+ for these memorabilia cups. I have a great collection cause I know the free way & am going to share it. As you are leaving the theatre linger searching the aisles for left cups & cruise into aisle & grab it. Yesterday, I was standingby the Listen Aid devices & lo & behold there was a tall trash can with many cups so ๐นI got 2. C’mon theatre tix are expensive so get something for free. No one uttered a word when I snatched them. Okay, a few peeps gave me a disgusting look. Who cares I don’t know them. They were probably disgusted that they paid for them. When you do this folks, drop me a line so I can applaud you
Snazzy Hats
Have you ever wondered where peeps get their stylishly amazing hats from for special occasions or parties you want to receive the the โWowโ comment? Visit The Hat Shop on Sullivan Street in Soho, off Spring Street. Donโt talk about the coronation, cause Linda the owner is not a Royalistโฆ.that is for us Americans. The shop is small with hats galore.
The window of hats is enticing. One of the draws was the Cherry ๐ Pie. The crisscross pastry & cherries was so kool; you wanted to enter the store. A great park bench awaits so you can see your friend & customers selecting & trying on hats. The staff place the hat upon your head so it appropriately fits & garners compliments.
Your head is measured so a proper fit is attained. Depending on your choice, a story is told about how the hat is made & materials used plus other interesting tidbits. I was content to relax on the bench to observe buyers & those on a reconnaissance mission. The staff/owner provide extreme personal attention for your satisfaction & experience.
A young woman with violet hair was looking for a hat for a Derby Party to compliment her white sheath dress & red gloves. It was fascinating observing her selections plus the staff ideas & mine. Watching her try on many hats & seeing the staffer add that little tilt of the hat to create the Wow factor was so impressive. I could have sat there all day watching this show. My girlfriend was very interested in where these hats were to be worn; the owner gave her an education. Everyone in the store was fascinating even us-lol!
My favorite hat was the Cherry ๐ pie. My friendโs was a straw kinda beach hat with a Chiquita Banana arrangement of fruit that could be changed or removed.
Let me tell you, these fascinating hats are not cheap. You can drop a few hundred bucks for one. Think of the fun & joy to display your buy at any event or a mundane date in your special chapeau. This store is worth a visit to see what can make you look interesting & fascinating plus just to see what takes place in a Hat store. I highly recommend it for a fun day. Who knows you may buy yourself a Cherry ๐ pie hat & enjoy life every time you wear it plus the wonderful experience you had buying it expressly for you.
Pippin
My neighbor, Joe, is a theatrical guy with many roles & invited me to see his best role as King Charlemagne. I did not know that there are many ways to present this show: The Life of Pippin, the King’s son is looking for meaning of life. The director presented a fabulous, hilarious & interesting take. The cast was so talented The gal in red,Alessia was magnificent;her splits breathtaking. She played the stepmother-I voted her for the best actress in a supporting role. Joe was terrific as King ๐. He also got a vote. At the final performance they hand out Milkies aka their Tony’s. Costumes & props were great. A show that is Off Broadway worthy๐๐๐
The venue was a church in Fort Lee. I really enjoyed seeing this talented cast perform in the Park Players theater ๐ญ group.
In 5/19 I won a contest to sing ๐คon the Original cast album with Andrea Martin & Stephen Schwartz but have never met anyone else who did it till now. The Director & his partner also were winners. C’mon what are the odds? And of all places a church in Fort Lee๐น๐น๐น
Hey folks support your local theater ๐ญ productions!

American Idol
Peeps don’t miss this electric & fabulous show of talent with Ruben & Clay. They are still friends. Ruben won & Clay #2. I saw this wonderfully entertaining show at Lehman College for Performance ๐ญ Arts in the Bronx. The venue was a fabulous theater. I was in orchestra. Clay told their story on Idol ; the path to stardom. They sang songs from their mentors. Ruben sang Vandross. Clay told how Ruben was nicknamed The Velvet TeddyBear. Of course Clay did Barry Manilowโญ๏ธ. Their friendship was evident as they kibitzed . A solid 2hr concert. Check their schedule & go see them. Hard to believe it is 20yrs from Ruben winning American Idol.
I am a Claymate . I saw Clay in Spamalot on Broadway. Ruben & Clay’s Christmas Show on Broadway and the list goes on & on. After 20 years I am still swooning to their vocals

This show is so much fun. Filled with adult humor, tricks, audience participation. Pixie the clown tells her story of being a Birthday Kids Clown ๐คก with segways to how she ended up doing this. Pixie rolls her cart of mysterious props & who knows what unto the stage. Pixie might even give you some psychological help ๐น. Tanya Perez wrote the show & suspiciously may be true
The show is at The Tank, Off Broadway. Intimate venue with small bar. I have been to this theatre ๐ญ many times and has a great vibe.
If you want to laugh & have fun this is a must see show. Plus you are supporting this venue & actors. Oh! I almost forgot, I received a balloon dog
As you can see I got picked. PS if you sit in chairs with gold bow that means you want to be selected/volunteer for the stage.
Sitting behind me were 2 grand dames who agreed to video me, with my phone ๐ฑ, when I was picked. The one gal’s son was an engineer with Barnum & Bailey Circus. I wore my Clown sweatshirt with my Alley logo. Sitting next to me was a lad who is a professional Storyteller. I asked him if he ever went to Jonesboro, Tennessee for the International Storytelling Festival. What are the odds. I, too, belonged to this organization at one time & traveled to this mystical festival to share my stories. Jonesboro is a charming town. Every where I go I meet interesting folks

Ultimate Choreography
This is a must see play. I will tell you why; no message, no plot! Dancing & more dancing. An energetic, thrilling & spirited 2-hours of excellent entertainment. The 16 dancers are in colorful & amazing outfits. There is every kind of dance you can dream of. The high kicks are beyond belief. The youngest dancer is 19 and oldest 45. The show is joyful & fun. Bob Fosse is mentioned. Staging is clever. The show is dynamite ๐งจ
At intermission met Bob who was discussing his podcast for the show. Dancin Men, podcast, was an interview with the Company & also female dancers. Bob was knowledgeable about dancers, the physicality of this show. So folks listen to the Podcast & love show before you go so you can doubly cheer for your favorite dancers. Frankly, in my opinion , The Company deserves a standing ovation ๐
Prior to the show stopped for a Brewski๐บat Smith’s Bar & Restaurant, 1 block from theatre & had my usual which Pete knows & introduced me to–Kona.

Not a Grimm Tale
Bad Cinderella is appropriately named. Be prepared for a fun & bawdiness. The lyrics are hilarious especially between the Queen & Stepmother. The costumes, staging & dancing are spectacular. Don’t go by the negative reviews cause this Andrew Lloyd Weber’s twist on a fair tale. The Princess is rebellious & sings beautifully. This is a delightful show that moves at a swift pace so never a dull moment
There are many surprises that I am going to keep secret for your enjoyment . This is a splashy & campy musical. This show will leave you satisfied with a fun feeling. It is amazing & amusing The cast is very talented & having as much fun as you
Treat yourself to a good natured time at the theatre & leave with a big smile recalling all the great moments this show gave you๐

Pilgrims & Turkeys

Gobble Gobble Gobble
This play at Second Stage, The Helen Hayes theater is intimate for the perfect venue. The play takes place in an elementary school classroom with the intense discombobulated Director & her cast. The Director received a grant for A Native American play about the first Thanksgiving. Interspersed are videos of kids singing satirical songs that are hilarious. Some folks might find that the show can be offensive but No Culture is left untouched by bigotry & does include”historical violence ” ๐น๐น๐น. Don’t be sensitive & laugh yourself silly.
Cast is talented with tons of slapstick comedy. Staging keeps you engaged. Videos are super of kids being kids & doing parodies of Thanksgiving songs, 90 minutes of hilarity. The only reason not to see show is no sense of humor๐น
Awaiting in the lobby , met Brenda Hillegas, theatre critic for Row Home; magazine for business & lifestyle out of Philly. Check out her reviews.!
Jโai mal a la tete
You will not have a headache going to Chez Josephineโs on 42nd Street yourself or bringing friends. I had Brunch on Saturday with pals & we all enjoyed the food & the ambience. The โLegend of Josephine Baker Lives Onโ. When you walk in, one enters a French bistro modeled after a jazzy & welcoming Parisian setting. The walls covered in red velvet. The ceiling is very high & blue tin. With the high ceiling there is long & steep staircase to the restroom. Upstairs are private party rooms.
There isnโt a typical brunch menu. The libations are Josephine Baker centrified from that era. There is entertainment so check before. A sleek black piano ๐น is in the middle-center of the room adding elegance and awaiting someone to tickle those ivoryโs & ebony keys.
Go to their website & read the story. You will be enticed to stop in for a drink at the bar or maybe a bottle of wine ๐ท with sumptuous appetizers. The place has a great vibe with gorgeous chandeliers and vintage portraits of The Josephine Baker. Service & waitstaff are excellent.
A great place to impress anyone or treat yourself .
