Museum of Broadway πŸŽ

Opening day at the Museum of Broadway 2022; 5 years in the making. I have been dreaming about what would be there. In your wildest & most imaginative theatrical visualizations – the Museum of Broadway 🎭 surpasses it. I loved my 2.5hrs slowly & gleefully that I’m here opening day. Okay, let me answer this question firstly, “how was the gift shop?” Great news !!!!Prices don’t have you gag when you see price: magnets $8. Scenery Bags are there. I will bring my “Rocky” 🎢 I will post it. Jewelry from theatre floors. I did not know I had such great control.

As I entered, I was greeted warmly by security. I could not control my excitement & shared my joyfulness. She suggested taking a pic of me & loved my shirt. LoL, Lmao- each pin had a story. Lol

Starting with a film πŸŽ₯ about the beginning of Broadway was terrific. Then the I entered 🎭 Theatre World. One of my favorite rooms was West Side Story. I sat at the soda shoppe counter. Broadly smiling, I was thinking of ordering an egg cream. Sitting upon a red plastic twirling seat, I watched West Side Story dancing! Breath-taking!!! Phantom of the Opera room caused tears when I think of it closing. The staff in every room are very knowledgeable & share theatre Secrets plus eager to talk theatre 🎭. A hanging artistic light & bead display has a surprise for you

I don’t want to give too much away so you can be surprised. The real Dolly Levi dress had the Wow factor.

You will never miss a thing, just follow the arrows. Soak up this marvelous theatre 🎭 presentation. The exhibit introduces you to all workers. Fascinating, was the Stage Manager & Star Dresser. Picked up some unique theatre lingo.

Whether you love ❀️ the theatre or not, this must go on your November Bucket List. I went solo cause I did not want my happiness spoiled by nagging questions. I wanted to be in my Theatre World. Lmao!!!

The Museum of Broadway is magical. I will return with my Rocky bag & get a necklace.

I want to applaud & give a standing ovation to the peeps that put this together. You folks rockπŸŽ‰πŸ₯‚

Anagrams 🀑

This is the best show I have seen in a long time. There is a band above the stage. Spectacular talent, staging & choreography. I laughed at this hysterical musical. Picture this, Bergen County 1999 before cell phones. A Jersey teen with a fast-aging genetic disease who happens to look 72 is determined to help classmates get new band uniforms. She hysterically works with dysfunctional family, borderline crime, family secrets & hijinks. She wants happiness & surprises are fabulous. This is a must see show for joy, happiness & tons of laughs. Anagrams have a major place!

I usually sit in mezzanine for musicals but Show-Score offered me a $15. orchestra seat. Get listening device cause there is so much laughing you may miss words. The Booth is an intimate venue so any seat is great

Pre-theater drinks at Smith’s Bar & restaurant @ 44th & 8th. Check it out.

As I was walking up 8th Avenue, I began staring at a gal on curb waiting for green lite. She is looking at me, too. Lightbulb goes off ! We gleefully started hugging! Only in NY kiddos. We are ShowScore pals who had not seen each other in 3+years

Beer 🍺 Culture

T

This place, 45th St between 8th & 9nth. You love beer; now you must go here to have international beers 🍻. The bartender, Beau, served me a thirst quenching pint. The dressmaker’s cloth bust is now relegated to end of bar with checkered shirt and wanted to relive the memory. The joint has a fun vibe . Go Pre & Post theatre 🎭 or anytime to wet your whistle

Oh, the wild & fun times I have had at Beer Culture are manyπŸΊπŸ’•

Riveting & Hilarious

This is a play about disabilities & caregiving. Hilarious, haunting & intriguing. Care givers need to be cared for, also! I laughed out loud when they mentioned Bayonne. The cast is stellar. Two of the are disabled & this brings a reality to show. Stage design is clever & seamless taking you from one home to another. Enjoyable show smattered with awe, sadness, shock, love, & entertainment

No intermission so take yourself to the loo so you don’t piss your pants πŸ‘–

Theatre 🎭 Ho

I will do anything for cheap theatre 🎭 seats. For this show $59. in rear balcony Row E. Excellent seats. The Lyceum Theatre is the oldest operating theater. To get to the balcony is a long climb up marble stairs in a circular fashion up 4 flights. Peeps were huffing & puffing plus passing gas! Some folks were hanging onto banister gasping & all for discounted seats.

Before the show had drinks at The Perfect Pint 🍻 next door. Handsome & friendly waitstaff. Maybe I wouldn’t have had 2 pints 🍺 if I knew I would be doing flights.

The theatre is gorgeous. Designed in Beaux Arts with Corinthian columns. Built in 1903, this theatre is a work of art. The big “L” is for LouisXIV

The show a Strange Loop is a sad story about a gay man who is black & fat & the pressure of bringing out his inner White Girl. Lyrics & choreography are wonderful. Cast is talented. The show is a musical with plenty of laughs The title refers to a cognitive illusion; you will end up back where you started. The show is great but hard to describe. Thoughtful, hilarious & thrilling. Not to be missed

I got my ticket from Today Tix

Grand Banks Celebration πŸŽ‰

Do you have a special day you want to celebrate go to GRAND BANK on Hudson River Park’s Pier 25 in Tribeca. This is a restored oyster schooner named “Sherman Zwicker “. This wooden schooner sways with the Hudson’s tide. The views are spectacular of NJ, Statue of Liberty πŸ—½ & the busy New York Harbor.

The cocktails are nautically named & created. I had the refreshing Tropicaila-vodka, watermelon πŸ‰ , cucumber πŸ₯’ & lime on the rocks.

The Chef, Kerry Heffernan, made a delicious Lobster 🦞 Roll on a toasted bun.

The dessert was heavenly & devilish.

This was the perfect Birthday πŸ₯³ celebration!

Sprinkler Time

The heat & humidity making you roast? Jump into those synchronized sprinklers & enjoy the relief. This is next to Intrepid on West Side Highway at 44th St. I proceeded to walk to 8th Ave & Restaurant Row, by then I was mostly dry except for sneakers. Had lunch at Playwright’s Celtic Pub.

FYI – Alas the Water Taxi is no longer. Went out of business. Don’t be fooled like me; their Website is still up πŸ†™
