Tony Award for Best Musical

The Outsiders was based on the S.E. Hi ton’s book & Francis Ford Coppola’s film. You might say a cult classic . It reminded me of West Side Story only this time it was the Greasers Vs the Soc’s . Apparently a coming of age story of impoverished kids against the Socials whose parents wealth was flaunted.

It is a gripping story of survival , freedom, loss & redemption. The music & story were interesting. Great staging & choreography. I enjoyed it but don’t agree it was worthy of Best Musical. The audience was young. Peeps sitting near me loved it & had seen it twice.

If you enjoy coming of age stories then this a show for you. Interesting, enjoyable & slice of life in 60’s.

My friend & I got our shirts at Broadway Con from booth Broadway UP Close. They give walking tours I took the Broadway Ghost Tour & had a blast ๐Ÿ’ฅ learning theatre tidbits

Someone Spectacular

Picture this! You are at your weekly bereavement group therapy session & counselor is MIA. Attempts made to contact her are unsuccessful. The group decides to stay & tackle the mental issues of losing a special person. Complicated emotions create an edgy comedy. Grief is expressed differently by folks with surprising truths. Nobody is capable of running group so they decide to vote who should be leader. Now it exposรฉ’s hidden stressors.

While the show is mostly hilarious there are incredibly sad & poignant moments. I really enjoyed this Off Broadway ๐ŸŽญ show by Domenica Feraud. Great acting ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ & thought-provoking! Get your tickets at Today Tix for discount

Noah, the friendly & handsome, bartender has the most unique beers ๐Ÿบ & Specialty cocktails. I enjoyed a Tenement Pilsner. The lounge is definitely for a people watching area. I really like seeing show here

Oh! Mary by Cole Escola

This show is not for Puritans. From the announcement before curtain rises you begin laughing. This show is so hilarious my ribs were aching. I can’t recall the last time I was laughing boisterous in the theatre ๐ŸŽญ

. It felt like a 50’s Saturday evening sitcom. Civil War is raging, Mary Lincoln is a drunken First Lady & President is worried . If want to see the best hilarious show this is it. I was still laughing leaving theatre

We sat in balcony, last row left. $60 from Today Tix. No elevator. We climbed so many floors. Seats are expensive so we felt privileged to get tickets. Show worth the climb.

Cole Escola wrote the play & is Mary with her Brat Curls. So hilarious I had an outrageously hilarious time. A must see. It has been extended to November. Hurry๐Ÿ˜น๐Ÿ˜นyou must see this show

From Hereโ€”-A ๐ŸŽถ Musical

This is a play about the Gay community of family, friends, lovers, and aftermath of Pulse nite club mass shooting. Set in June 2016, the shooting changes everyone’s life. “The attack marked one of the deadliest against LGBTQIA+ community in the Nations history “.

Daniel , a 30yo, who is trying to find acceptance from his mother. His friend’s support his mental health issues & tell him who he is . It is a complicated story with emotional scenes that in bring closure & compassion.

Staging, choreography & story are excellent. Band is on stage. Very creative team that dealt with a deadly sad topic & turned it into a musical to recover from the Pulse Nightclub shooting.

Cheers to Daniel Rupe who starred in his story. The tale was told with hilarity, passion, love & compassion. A must see.

New World Stages

EMPIRE The Musical, is the story of how the Empire State Building came to be. The story begins in 1976 , The show is too long The staging was great, talented cast. Lacked pizazz therefore dragging. My friend nodded out twice. Interesting tale about lives of immigrants who worked on the 102 stories. Romantic songs. Poetry .Staging & choreography great. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Pre-theatre dined at our favorite restaurant at World Wide Plaza—Barking Dog. Lucie, manger, always gives a welcoming greeting. Food delicious, 1/2 price margaritas on Thursday. Outdoor seating.

Battery Park

Here is a fun day in The Big Apple ๐ŸŽ. We are on our way to Governors Island. The ferry is free for seniors & runs every 1/2 hour.

Before the ferry, we took a ride on the SeaGlass Carousel $6.00. It is an amusement park ride located at Water & State street. Take the #1,2 subway to South Ferry/Battery Park. The Battery is a 25acre park at the southern tip of Manhattan. The Carousel is located inside a glass-paneled nautilus shell that sits above the site of the original New York Aquarium, appropriately! One feels as though they are in an aquarium as well as maybe a LSD trip. You spin around in shells with music ๐ŸŽถ. The ride moves fast so strap in. FYI if the ride is too high to hop in ; they will bring a step ๐Ÿ˜นBe safe.

Of all the days we chose to go to Governor’s Island, stay clear of Tuesday—the trams do not run. Poppycock! They should run every day. Nonetheless, we slogged through the heat & walked around the island. Before you go check what is open. There is the hammock area, public art, nature tours. We found a wonderful joint, Taco ๐ŸŒฎ Vista & their frozen margaritas were refreshing. Tacos were delicious. You can rent bikes, surries, race cars-pedal of course. Lavender field was gorgeous with purple reeds swaying with the River breeze & scent wafting in the air.

Looking for more excitement, we walked to Battery Playscape. 5 granite slides surrounded by gardens is a huge slide. Lillian & I climbed the rock steps , sat on top of slide ( 33 feet in length) & whoooosh down we went screaming & laughing. It is a must when in Tear Drop park.

This is a great way to spend a day in the Big Apple ๐ŸŽ. Let me know how you liked it

Stalker

Interested in Magic? Interested in Mentalists acts? How about audience participation? Well even if not into these acts be daring & enjoy a riveting show. This show is a unique & entertaining experience .

Penn & Teller have presented & have approved their talents as do I. Jonas &Peter have a personable & engaging stage presence. I was amazed & riveted by their performance

Audience participation is optional. During the performance there are cameras that record the audience. What is better than seeing yourself on the big screen? Oscar’s anyone?

After the show , Peter & Janus had a photoop . This was fabulous & they were so friendly.

Want a fun evening start off with a pre-theatre dinner at Barking Dog at Worldwide Plaza, next to theatre. Thursday is Ladies Nite with 1/2 priced Specialty Cocktails. I had fish tacos(blackened shrimp & battered cod plus my margaritas . The staff is friendly & so much fun seeing dogs enjoying a nite out with their human. As my girlfriend said : who is having more fun than us? NO ONE๐Ÿ˜น

History of Womenโ€™s Suffrage

Hillary Rodam Clinton is one of many producers, the money ! All female cast. Stuff’s is entertaining & empowers the audience with historical entertainment. I would almost say this is the response to Hamilton

Shaina Taub is the first woman to compose, write & star in same musical The music is lively & lyrics are memorable. My two favorite songs are “If we were married ” & “keep marching “

This musical ๐ŸŽต was very entertaining & enjoyable. At the end I felt powerful & proud of what they accomplished. The female population must see this monumental show & especially Chauvinistic pigs should see this.

The show is a must see We sat in mezzanine for $58 from Today Tix. Full stage view. Terrific seats.

Broadway Buzz ๐Ÿ says that Hillary is known for coming to frequent shows & sometimes brings philandering Bill. ๐Ÿ˜น

East Carson Street

June & I zealous fans since American Idol. June & see every show. As tired he was , held the camera for a selfie. Constantine appreciates his fans. I follow on all platforms. I spotted him walking out & June spotted the lane next to us.

His show East Carson Street was terrific. It was a Staged Reading. A form of theater without sets or full costumes. The actors read from scripts

The entire cast was very talented. Constantine was the lead. A Musical ๐ŸŽต about a Pennsylvania town on and their happiness & saddens. It is a dramadey. Oh ! How it hope it comes to NYC

Jonathan Rosenberg who wrote the book keeps you engaged. Excellent book ๐Ÿ“•. Everyone in the Company : Joe Grushecky, music & lyrics Everyone involved deserves a standing ovation. A rude audience member female was Video recording & Constantine halts the show & tells her to Stop ๐Ÿ›‘ Audience behavior is shocking. Perhaps it’s a Jersey Thing. ๐Ÿ˜น. If someone in my seating area misbehaving I confront them or depending where I will get an usher

East Carson Street was fabulous. I enjoy musicals ๐ŸŽถ I am excited what the next step is
