This is an interesting & contemporary museum of photography located at Park Ave South & 23rd Street. We took the Lexington Ave bus . I have switched to taking the bus because of the heinous subway crimes plus I feel like a vacationer taking in all the sites. The museum gives Seniors discount & early arrival so paid just $10.00
The venue is 6 floor but with a crazy system. Take the gorgeous flowered elevator to 5th floor & then walk to 6th & work your way down. The exhibition we saw the Futuristic Ancestry. It was kool with blobs of colorful visions & movies. One show sounded like a powerful orgasm. The room I felt relaxed in was a floor that depicted a lake with fish, mold on rocks & visions on the wall. Your became lost & serene because you are “encountering yourself in nature
The other part of the exhibit was all about rock. Pictures of David Bowie plus photos of many stars. This was fascinating and we delighted in naming them .
Fotografiska is a branch of the Swedish Photography Museum . While it is small there is a lot to offer: the Chapel bar next to gift shop with interesting gifts, a snowball that say FU πΉπΉπΉ, workstations & lite foods, We enjoyed our visit & the exhibition
The bathrooms are state of the art The hand dryer is part of the faucet. Very clever. Of course took us awhile to figure it out. Make sure to visit π°π°
We did not eat at museum but walked East on 23rd & found an Irish βοΈ Bar, the globe with a lunch special: hamburger with everything including fries π & mug of beer πΊ The food was delicious & filled our bellies. After lunch I order a pint πΊ & she a coffee. The bartender tells her “this is a bar, we don’t serve coffee but you can get it at the delie Nextdoor. We laughed so hard because he was serious. Only in New York kids, only one in New YorkπΉπΉπΉπΉ
